Full of personality!

So, the purpose of this blog is to keep a record of my family's daily life since my memory is beyond pitiful.  But, really to remember Amelia and Anna Claire's funny happenings.  So, this is going to be a miss mosh of funny things that Amelia has done lately.

This morning, I was taking her to daycare.  I have a little mirror that I can see her in, because I can't stand to not be able to know what she is doing.  So, as we are sitting at the stop light, I look in the mirror and this is what I see.
Little girl had found her glasses.  She is becoming so full of herself!  It just made me crack up immediately!

Tonight, we had just finished eating dinner, and I had gotten her down from the table.  She was walking around and found a video of Winnie the Pooh.  She was so excited and started saying Winnie the Poop.  The she proceeded to say I want poop until I finally put the dvd in for her to watch Winnie the Poop.  She wasn't too interested in it for long, but the Winnie the Pooh movie is actually a little bit scary.

Lastly, I was reading a friend's blog yesterday, and it reminded me of something that happened a few months ago.  We were shopping at a local home decorating store.  We were looking for things for Anna Claire's room.  Well, as you know Amelia can't stand to sit in the cart for very long, and I am constantly saying to her, on your bottom, on your bottom.  What did I say, and she replies on your bottom.  She will sit every time, it just doesn't last for long.   So, she stands up again for the twentieth time, and I say Amelia, on your bottom, and she says to me, but I have to poop.  All I could say was well, you can't argue with that.  At least she already has good reasoning skills.  The funniest part was after I changed her diaper, I hated to leave a stinky diaper in the store, so I wrapped it in one of those bags and put it in my purse to toss later.  Well, the ladies at the store were following behind us everywhere we went with febreeze.  Needless to say, we left pretty soon after that happened, and I am sure they were happy about that!

VBS

Tonight started the first night of VBS for our church this year.  Amelia was able to go to VBS at her aunt Sharon's church, so not her first.  But, it was still exciting for her because she had some friends in there with her.  The theme this year is Moses and the Ten Commandments.  We learned about the 10 plagues tonight.  The teachers did a very good job of making it interesting for 2-4  year olds.
This was during game time.  We first started outside on the playground.  It was really hot to be out there too long.  We all had to go inside and cool off.

Amelia having fun playing with the toys.

We then went to craft time.  They made necklaces with beads.  I guess I need to start doing more crafts with her.  I think I underestimate her abilities.  I still see her as a baby, but she did really good.  I mean she needed a little extra help, but that may have been because she has never done anything with beads before.  I think I might have to go to the craft store.  It would be nice to add something new to our daily routine.

Also, curtains are 90% complete, and night stand is complete.  Hopefully pictures will be available on Wednesday.  I feel like I accomplished so much this weekend.  Now to get all her baby stuff ready, and we will be good to go.  Just waiting on Anna Claire to get here!  Yay!

Sweets and treats!

I decided that today, I was going to feed that need I've been having for some yummy pastry.  So, we got up, had breakfast, then got dressed to head to the farmers market.  It was my first trip.  I have to say that the Greenville farmers market is really not very impressive, or maybe we picked the wrong Saturday to go.  But, all I wanted was peaches, and they had plenty of those!!  Yay!  So we picked up 2 bundles then headed to do some more shopping.
Daddy was in charge of getting her out of the car so she looked like quite a diva walking around the farmers market!
We headed to some local stores to try to find a lamp for Anna Claire's room.  We had considered maybe going to Jackson today to go to the children's museum, but I am in full out stress mode.  I feel like I have to get everything done right now.  So, we will have to wait on the children's museum for a few more weeks.  Once Amelia went down for her nap, I got busy.  I'm not quite finished with the curtains, but for 5 roman shades, I am pretty close, and that makes me happy.  I worked some more on the night stand that I am refinishing.  It would be finished, but unfortunately, it sat outside for 5 days in 100% humidity, so I have to redo the top because the wood seperated a little bit.  I was not too happy to say the least.  Lastly I did a lot of cooking today.  I made our second freezer meal, red beans and rice.  It is so yummy.  So, now 2 meals down many more to go.  I plan to do about 2 per week.

When Amelia woke up, we filled up the pool, and went to soak up some rays.  It was nice to get outside, and not be on fire!  Amelia had a blast.  I am sure that if any of our neighbors saw us, they probably got a good laugh.  The whole family was in that kiddy pool.

Then, I went in to get started on my peach cobbler.  I am not a talented baker by any means.  I found a recipe on pinterest, which apparently is the same as the pioneer womans.  I am going to have to keep practicing to learn how to move the crust without it cracking.   The pie filling recipe came from Southern living.  Let me tell you, it was probably the yummiest peach cobbler ever!  I shared mine with Amelia, and as hyper as she is now, she usually doesn't sit still for longer than 5 seconds, but she would not get out of my lap.  I think that is saying something.  She wanted another bite as soon as I put one in her mouth.

This is the finished product, not beautiful, but my mouth didn't mind.
This is my serving.  It really didn't photograph well, but it was delicious!  I think it may have actually been worth the mess that I made in the kitchen!

It was a nice way to end the day!

Flashback Friday

We are sitting here watching the opening ceremonies to the olympics, so it makes me think back to the last olympics 4 years ago.  Drew and I were getting ready to go on our "honeymoon."  We took a delayed honeymoon.  We watched the opening ceremonies with our friends in Knoxville, then left the following morning.  We missed a lot of the olympics that year, but we were ok with that.

We went to Cozumel for our honeymoon.  It was wonderful!  I loved it, and so did Drew.  He was a little fish.  We brought our on snorkels and fins, and spent a lot of time exploring the water.  We did a lot of fun excursions also.  Our first excursion, we went to chichenitza (unsure of the spelling), swam in a conote (unsure of spelling also, but it is a large swimming hole), it was beautiful, but I just observed from the sides, I wasn't brave enough to actually jump in, and we toured an old city.  We were completely exhausted by the end of that day.  I also received a call from one of my good friends letting me know she was going to have a baby.  Our other excursions consisted of swimming with dolphins, snorkeling, and touring some more mayan ruins.

The last day we were there, we rented a VW beetle and toured the island.  We went to a public beach.  We swam out about 150 yards to snorkel.  I thought I was going to die by the time we got out there.  But, it was the best snorkeling of the whole trip.  We saw all kinds of sea animals.  Drew went out a second time, I was too exhausted to go out twice.  But, he saw a shark on the second trip.  I'm not sure that I am too sad about missing that!
This is in front of chichinitza.  It was really hot that day!

We were headed out for dinner, these were local performers.
This was our last dinner in Cozumel.
This was at the Mayan ruins of Tulum.  It was absolutely beautiful.  It was built on some cliffs overlooking the Caribbean.

It is truly amazing how much our lives have changed in the past 4 years.  We were just getting married then, now we are living in a new city and about to welcome our second baby girl.  I look forward to seeing where life takes us in the next 4 years.  Hopefully another tropical island or 2 before the next olympics!

Getting ready!

I am having a lot more difficulty finding the energy and motivation to start getting everything ready for baby girl #2.  I have decided that this week it has to get done.  I only have 6 more weeks until my due date.  Which does kind of sound like a lot of time, but maybe this one might decide to come a little early.

I had a doctor appointment today pretty early, and since I had to take Amelia to daycare, I decided I would leave her there all day and get some stuff accomplished.  First, MD appointment went well.  I did gain 3 #s in 2 weeks, so he told me I needed to slow this train down.  So, I took his advice and ate my 100 calorie chocolate graham cracker cookies on the way to the grocery where I then bought a bag of dove dark chocolate with almond squares as a little happy.  They are yummy!  We'll see how it goes in another 2 weeks!  Can't wait to not have to hear about my body size everyday of my life anymore!

I spent the rest of my day getting ready for baby girl.  I am making roman shades for her room.  There are 5 windows in there.  That is a lot of shades, but they will cost me about a fifth of the price to make as they would be to buy.  So, it is worth it.  I am about 40-50% finished.  I hope to have done by Saturday, and hung, so as soon as that happens I will post photos of the room.

The last accomplishment for me was that I started the first of my freezing of meals for post baby tonight.  I did that with Amelia and it was wonderful.  She was about 6 weeks old before we were out of premade meals.  We did eat out some and we were out of town for about a week of that time, but we were beyond able to start cooking by the time we ran out.  I hope to have a freezer full in a few more weeks.

I still have a lot to do, but just getting started helps me to feel more motivated to actually get finished!

Sharing and confessing

One of Amelia's favorite toys is her picnic basket.  One day we will have a real picnic, but that day will come when the temperature drops back in the 60's and 70's at noon.  Until then, we will continue to enjoy our daily pretend picnics.  But, I do have a really pathetic confession.  I always let Amelia set up the picnic.  She always gives me the same thing, and she always gets the same thing.  She always gives me the slice of pie.  This makes me so happy!  The other dessert is a boring looking cookie, and I love pie!  How pathetic is that!  It is fake food, but everytime I am thinking to myself please give me the slice of pie.   We usually end up "eating" each other's food anyway, so it really doesn't matter, and again it's fake!  Maybe this pregnant momma just needs to break down and make a yummy pie so she'll quit wanting the fake one so bad!

Going to the chapel!

This weekend was Drew's cousin, Molly's wedding.  We drove up to spend some time with Drew's parents and for the wedding.  It was a really quick weekend!  We got to Drew's parent's house late Friday night.  Amelia didn't have a lot of time to spend with Mimi and Pop, but she did enjoy jumping on the bouncy ball (a trick she learned from her cousins) until it was time to go bed.
The next day, we got up and went to the local park.  Amelia loved running around and playing, and cleaning the playground equipment.  I really don't know where she gets it from, but little girl really didn't like the little rubber playground pieces on the playset.  But, I know mimi and pop had a lot of fun playing with her too.
Do you think she likes to slide!

She loves to go really high!

This slide was a little big for momma to feel comfortable with her going down.  She didn't mean to end up on her belly!  I think we will wait to go down it again until she is a bit older!

That evening we drove up to Clarksville for Molly's wedding.  Amelia was excited to go to her first wedding, and she loved it!  She wanted to run around everywhere and just be a crazy girl!  Little girl is definitely turning on her fast pace mode!  She is keeping momma running!
These are the only wedding shots I got.  I am so sad!  But, it was a beautiful ceremony, Amelia acted a lot better than I expected, and it was great to see all the family that we haven't seen in a while.  Molly was beautiful, and she and Austin look very happy together!

Oh yeah, I almost forgot to include one of the biggest events of our weekend!  I bought her a little potty chair just so she can start getting comfortable with it.  Not really to potty train cause I don't know if I am ready for that.  But, today when we got home, she was so excited about her elmo toilet.  She looked at me and said I've got to poop and sat on her toilet.  I said ok, if she wants to try, I will let her.  So, I took off her diaper and let her sit on her toilet.  She didn't poop, but she did pee in the potty.  We were very excited for her!  I don't think it will happen again anytime soon, but I am excited that she is getting comfortable with her toilet.

Mini vacation day 4

Today was the last full day of our trip to Memphis.  We spent it by celebrating my dad's birthday and father's day all in one.  He wanted Olive Garden for lunch, so we all made pigs of ourselves first thing.  We then planned to head to the pool.  This was suppose to be the pretty day of our trip.  Well, unfortunately, the weather man was wrong.  It rained from the time we got back to my sister's house until around 4.  We decided to just play games instead.  Uno spin is a favorite in my family.  Mainly because Drew is such a rules man that there have been a few incidences over the years with him and my mother and accusations of cheating.  So, everyone likes to see Drew get all fired up over a game.  My family tends to enjoy giving others a hard time, and poking fun.  So, as we are sitting around playing the game, Drew is sitting adjacent to me.  He does this really annoying thing where he kicks his feet or rubs them together, and it is very rhythmic.  I know my whole family thought I was crazy because out of nowhere I just looked at him and was like "it is you!"  Anna Claire does this thing daily, sometimes multiple times daily, where she just rhythmically kicks her feet.  It all of the sudden occurred to me where it comes from, her daddy!  I have been blaming it on hiccups all of this time, but I was never convinced.  Amelia had terrible hiccups and I don't remember them feeling like this.  So, time will only tell, but as of right now, I am convinced that Amelia is all me, and Anna Claire will be all Drew!

This is just a side, and wasn't intended to be part of the blog, but I just remembered it and felt that I need to share this.  But, that night as we were sitting around relaxing, I am feeling rather warm.  This isn't too unusual for me, so I just played it off to pregnancy hormones.  Well, then my sister realized it was warm to her too.  She yelled at her husband what was the thermostat set at cause it felt warm.  He hadn't adjusted it, but went and checked it anyway, and the harsh realization hit that the air conditioner was not working!  This is not what you want to hear when you are 32 weeks pregnant in July!  Mike immediately started calling air conditioner repair companies.  It is around 8 pm on Saturday night.  God was definitely looking out for us because Mike called Ellendale heating and air, and they came that night at 10:30 and fixed the air conditioning.  They also only charged the regular weekday rate!  I will recommend this company to anyone in the Memphis area.  They were truly good to us!  I felt great that night, and Sharon said she actually got cold at one point.

Mini-vacation Day 3

Today, we went to the Big Backyard at the Memphis Botanical Gardens.  Daddy took the day off so he could go with us.  It is so pretty at the Botanical gardens, and I have been wanting to take Amelia to the big backyard for a while now.

A little family portrait in front of the fountain.

The first stop you come to is candyland themed.  It was so cute, and had this rope you could swing on.  Amelia and I passed up on it, but my niece, nephew and sister had a lot of fun swinging on it.

This is the rock wall.  Madison was very good at climbing it!

Cute chair, I wish we would have gotten all the cousins sitting in it.

The large cocoon swing.

They then had a lot of playhouses along the trail for exploring.  They each had a different theme.

Everyone loved the music area.  We played and danced with all the instruments.

Daddy helped Amelia walk across the wood planks.

This was the large tree house.  There was a twisted slide, but I was too nervous about Amelia going down it by herself.  We walked back the way we came.

This was a large dog house.  There was a large dog sculpture in front of it, and Amelia was in aww.

We then walked to the Japanese garden to feed the fish.  I love this picture of Drew and Amelia.

This was at the Japanese pond, we were watching the swan.  Amelia wanted to joint the swan.
We couldn't have asked for better weather.  It was overcast, we had a few sprinkles, but for July, the temp was only in the 70's.  It was perfect.

We left the gardens and then headed to a local favorite for lunch, Hueys.  It was so yummy.  You would have thought we starve our child as fast as she ate her meal.  We then headed home for a nap and to jump in the pool.  We all went to the pool once Amelia got up from her nap.  The water was a little chilly, but we didn't mind.  Amelia loved playing with her cousins in the water, and jumping from the edge for daddy to catch her.  We then all went in, got cleaned up, ate dinner, and went to baskin robbins for an after dinner treat.  It was a really fun day!  Amelia was so spoiled.  It's going to be tough keeping up with all our adventures in Memphis!

Mini vacation, Day 2

The second day of our vacation started with a trip to the sprinkler park in Collierville.  It was overcast that day, so I wasn't sure how it would turn out, but we had a fabulous time!  It was my first trip to the sprinkler park,  my sister had been once, but had forgotten what all it had to offer.  There are all kinds of fun things at the sprinkler park.  Plus it is free!!!  What can be better than that.  We started at the sprinkler part of the park.  Amelia really didn't know what to think of the sprinklers.

This was pre-sprinkler run.  We were excited to get in there, just hoping to not freeze our tails off!

She's trying to hide her hair from the water.  It really didn't work!

The frog was the first one we ran through.  It almost seemed like more of a mist than a pour, so we thought it would be a little easier.  Amelia liked it, but I don't think she would have done it by herself.
Amelia had so much fun with her cousins.  You could tell she really thought she was a big girl.  But, how cute is the sprinkler park with all of its different kinds of sprinklers!
We did get a smile out of her after running through the water.  I actually think this was after we returned from the pond.

Amelia soon got over the sprinkler park, and a large group of kids came to play, which made me nervous.  So, we went to the little pond beside the park.  There were ducks swimming around, a little walking trail with people walking their dogs.  Amelia loved it!  Oh how I wish we could live somewhere like this!  The only problem is she wants to be in the pond with the ducks.  I sometimes (often times) wish she had a little bit of a fear of the water.

Once everyone had had enough of running through the water we made our way over to the adjacent playground.  Amelia was in heaven.  As soon as I let her go, she took off.  Plus, our friends Misty and Keylee joined us to play.  It was Keylees first time to go to the playground.
Amelia loves the slide.  I don't know why I get so nervous.  She is a pro now and doesn't need mommy to hold her hand down.

She had a lot of fun racing her cousins!
Amelia especially loved showing Keylee how to go down a slide.  Keylee really loved going down the slide too!

These swings cracked me up.  Amelia loved it, but it was even quite comfortable for mommy to swing for a little bit.

Amelia loves Madison and Brady!  I know she wishes she could see them more often!

Mini-Vacation

Drew had to travel to Georgia for the beginning of last week, so Amelia and I decided to take a little mini vacation to Memphis to visit family, friends, and take in some city life.  Drew came to meet us the day after we got there.  I will probably split up the trip over the next few days.

We left on Wednesday.  I had to see Dr. Beckham that morning for a regular visit.  I did really good.  Only gained 1 # in the past 3 weeks, so he was happy with that.   By the time I was able to get Amelia from daycare it was lunch time.  I couldn't stand the thought of feeding her fast food just because we were on the road.  So, we stopped at Connie's kitchen in Leland for some yummy homemade goodness.  It was our first time to eat there, but I have heard nothing but good things about it and have been wanting to eat there forever.  It was funny having a little lunch date with my sweet baby girl too.  The most exciting thing though was the refigerator of already made casserole dishes.  Mommy now knows how she is going to survive having another baby in a few weeks!

Once we made it to Memphis, we stopped at the Potterybarn outlet.  I was hoping to find some toddler bedding for baby girl, but no such luck.  But, Amelia did really enjoy her shopping experience.  She loves to shop!!!  We then headed to Aunt Sharon's house.  She really didn't know what to think at first.  Their dog Chloe was very hyper at first, and I think she made Amelia nervous, but it wasn't long before those roles reversed.  Amelia had so much fun playing with her cousins!  She loves them so much!

That night was the last night of VBS at my sister's church.  So, we all went, and we had a lot of fun.  Amelia was feeling a little overwhelmed by all the new faces, so she was a little upset about going to her class, but she had a lot of fun.  I went to church there when I lived in Memphis, but it has been 5 years since I lived in Memphis.  Well, the preacher there loves to embarrass people.  At the end of VBS, the children were singing, having a good time, and they decided to sing the Booster song.  If you have been to VBS you should know this song.  Well, at this church they like to have a "volunteer" perform as the rooster.  The "volunteer" is chosen by the preacher.  Well, I felt pretty safe, I mean, I am a visitor, 32 weeks pregnant, and have my baby girl sitting in my lap.  Well, the preacher didn't seem to consider any of that, and called my name.  I tried all I could to get out of it, but I decided that I could do it, and I really don't think they would have let me off the hook anyway.  So, I played the angry rooster.  It was so embarrassing!!!!  My brother in law video taped it, and sent it to my husband who proceded to show the video to everyone at the airport with him (he was having a rough night himself)  Let me just say, everyone was greatly entertained at my expense that night, and the running joke was that a miracle occurred that night because no one had ever seen a pregnant rooster before.  I think the only one not impressed was baby girl.  I got back to my seat, and she had been crying the entire time I had left her.  Made me feel bad, but I promise you, I would have much preferred to be sitting with her laughing at some one else!

snuggles

Tonight was a typical night in the Ellis household.  I gave Amelia a bath, it is a struggle to get her in and a struggle to get her out!  She loves her bath, but for some reason, it is always a battle to get her in there.  So, after her bath, I take her out, and she is mad to get out of her bath.  That is when the temper tantrum began.  So, I decided she was just going to go straight to bed, no story, no snuggle time, nothing.  So, she climbed into bed on her own.  I was like ok, guess it doesn't hurt her feelings too much.  So, I tell her night night, give her a kiss, and I go downstairs, turn on the monitor and sit to relax for a minute.  She starts crying, I give it a few minutes, and then say ok, I know she is sad, so I'm going to go up there.  My plan was to just sternly say night, night, and put her to bed, but she was so excited when I came in that she jumped out of bed.  I decided, I would just rock her instead, and we would have a little talk.  So, I picked her up and held her like I did when she was a baby, and told her how she makes me feel when she acts the way she does.  I know she doesn't really understand what I said.  But, for the first time in several months, I got to hold my little girl like she was a baby again.  She laid her little head on me and just went to sleep.  It was the sweetest, most wonderful moment of my day!  I was feeling so sad, and lost as to how to handle her tantrums, but that moment of rocking my sweet girl just made that all go away.  I know this is a phase that she will get through, and we just have to be patient with each other.  I just hope we make it through it all, and they get better in the next 8 weeks!

These are really old photos of her and the bath, she was probably 5 months old here, but these are the only photos I have of my sweet girl after she enjoyed her bath.  I guess I need to take more photos!

temper tantrums

I try to stear clear of any negative writing on my blog.  Aren't we bombarded with enough everyday anyway!  But, This is my way of keeping up with what is going on with my little girl right now.  And, what is going on with her are temper tantrums.  She has definitely mastered the art.  Hopefully this phase will pass soon.  She was once a lot of fun to take shopping.  And she still can be, but definitely not to the grocery store.  There is just too much there that she wants.  We have to get in and out, or mommy just has to find time to go alone.  She usually just doesn't want to leave the store so she will throw herself on the ground and refuses to walk.  The funny thing about her tantrums, we were shopping Friday, and it was the first time she just had an all out fit at the grocery store.  She will scream as high pitched as she can, scream no and slap at me.  I always thought that this would really embarrass me, but for some reason it didn't.  I don't know if it was because it was mainly older women at the store, or if my pregnancy hormones just made me annoyed.  But, we had luckily already picked up everything we needed, so we just headed for the check out line.  I know I looked a hot mess trying to get out of there.  I had taken her out of the cart because little houdini could just climb out of the strap that goes across her.  So, we had finally checked out had groceries loaded, and now she doesn't want to leave.  So, I'm trying to push the cart trying to get her to "help" me (don't know why I thought that would work), and she is throwing herself on the ground so she can stay.  I finally just snatch her up and carry her out.  Needless to say, we made it to the car without mommy completely losing it, but looking very forward to nap time and to daddy coming home!

Mommy did get a little break yesterday though, thank you daddy!  I tagged along with one of friends to go shopping in Cleveland.  I didn't purchase much, and nothing that I was actually looking for, but it was fun to have some friend time!

Flashback Friday!

It's pretty late for me.  I don't make it till 10 too many times anymore, but we had a few friends over tonight for a fish fry.  We really enjoyed hanging out with everyone and eating some yummy food!  I really thought about skipping another day of posting, but Flashback Friday is so easy, I just hate to miss another day.

I figured for this flash back Friday, I would share with you some past 4th of July's we have spent together.  Mine and Drew's first 4th of July together we went with a big group of friends to Bull Shoals, AR.  It is a beautiful lake in northwest Arkansas.  The water is crystal clear, but it is cold!  Which I guess right now would be really nice.  We spent 4 days at the lake, we rode the jet ski a little bit, but mostly just hung out chatting with friends.  It was a lot of fun!

Our first 4th of July, we were on the houseboat.  My other pictures are being held hostage by my old computer.  Maybe someday I will be able to get all my old photos off of that thing.  I had to take this one from facebook.

Last years 4th of July was our first year with our sweet baby girl.  Last year, we were fortunate enough to have a season pass to the tennis club pool.  We spent most of the day at the pool the weekend before the holiday.  We tried to go on the actual 4th of July and it was closed!  We were so sad!  So, we just turned around and went home.  We had friends over for dinner that night.

Sweet baby girl in her blue and red.  She was a bit of a drooler when she teethed.  I loved this little outfit on her, she was so cute.  I can't wait till Anna Claire can wear it.

Happy 4th of July!

The 4th of July is my favorite holiday!  I love everything about it, grilling out, playing, fireworks.  When I was growing up, my whole family would get together, and we would spend the entire day outside and it was just so much fun.  Nobody seemed stressed, everyone just enjoyed everyone else's company.

We began our 4th of July celebration with a video chat with my sister.  She just discovered that she can do that, so we've been trying to make it work since last night.  Unfortunately, the network was down last night, so we had to postpone till this morning.

We then met some friends at their family's pool and had a really good time with them.  It was our first trip to the pool this summer.  Amelia had a blast.  The child has no fear!  It makes me nervous.  I try to not take my eyes off of her at all times.  But, she is a little bit of a daredevil, and will try anything.

The pool was very nice!  It had a large lounge area that we used as a kiddie pool.

Amelia decided she wanted to swim with daddy!
She also liked to use the kiddie pool edge as her jumping in area.  She loved jumping in and having daddy catch her.  She would only do it for daddy.  I tried to play that game with her and she refused to jump to me.  I guess she feels safer with daddy!

We then headed home for our afternoon nap.  We had a lazy afternoon, and it was wonderful!  Watched a little uncle buck and ghostbusters.  Love some 80's movies.  We then grilled out.  Amelia had watermelon, not for the first time, but for the first time that we had an actual good watermelon.  Last one I bought was horrible.  But, she loved it and couldn't get enough of it.

We ended the night eating Sonic ice cream and watching the macy's fireworks on tv.  She danced with daddy.  It was so sweet to watch.  But, I must say I was a bit jealous.  Daddy doesn't dance with mommy, but she does have him wrapped around her finger!  Then she was on such a sugar high that she wanted to keep doing family hugs.  She stood between me and Drew and would just hug us as tight as we could and then we would get kisses.  It was a perfect ending to a wonderful day.  We both really enjoyed having daddy home with us and just relaxing.

Hope everyone else enjoyed their 4th of July!
