Moving Week

I know I am so bad right now at keeping up with the blog, maybe it will get better.  It seems that the only free time is after 8:30, and here lately, I just want to watch tv and do nothing!  But, so much is going on, I need to update everyone, but I will go back and add some things soon!

Friday is the big moving day.  The packers came today and will be here tomorrow to get everything packed.  I really thought that I was going to get to sit back and do nothing while they did everything.  Not the case.  We were right there with them helping.  It is a big help having them though.  But, I planned on catching up on the blog today!

This past weekend was full of seeing our Greenville friends.  Greenville might not be the most wonderful place, but there are really some wonderful people here.  Friday night we went to friends house for dinner.  We had a blast.  They have 2 sons around Amelia's age and lots of fun toys!  They had a puppy which kept Anna Claire's attention.  9:30 was when we left and there was not a tear before then.  I got a text from my friend that night saying that her son asked when Amelia was going to come and play again and she told him they would see her in Memphis and he had a meltdown.  He told her that he was going to tell Drew that he didn't want us to move and that we would stay.  So sweet!  If only it were that simple!  Saturday, we had lunch with one of our good friends.  She has been like my sister while we were here.  She helped us more than I could have ever imagined.  Drew and I would have never had a date night without her unless our parents had come more.  We will definitely miss the Wicker family!  That night we had dinner at another good friends house.  It was very relaxing and really good company.  Sunday, our close friends from church had us over for lunch.  It was so sweet.  They gave us a really sweet card and a Mississippi platter.

It's happy and sad all at the same time.  We are so excited to be heading back home, but we will miss the people we have met here so much.  Tomorrow is my last day at work.  It will probably be really tough to say bye to the girls I work with.  They have been through so much with me, taught me so much, saw me through 2 pregnancies and crazy first baby fears.  They cried with me through all the stuff with Anna Claire and have been a constant support.  I don't think I could ask for a better group of women to work with.  I look forward to our next adventure, and will take with me some really good memories of some really sweet friends!

I want a treat!

I am back tracking a little bit, but Amelia is too funny to not include this.  Tonight at dinner, she was being awful, wouldn't eat, wouldn't stay in her chair, playing with her food and her fork.  So, after much, much, much threatening she finally ate her dinner.  She was so excited that she says, I want a tweat (treat).  Of course I wasn't going to give her one.  So, I said, your treat is a full belly.  She says, how do I eat that.  All I could do was laugh.

Arlington Living

Friday, we drove up to see the new house one last time before we close.  We were so excited.  Amelia was so excited to see.  I think she liked it.  We were a little rushed.  Traveling takes a little longer when you have a potty trained little girl.  We weren't counting on that, so we were a little late.  We didn't get to spend as much time as we would have liked, but as of next week, we will be spending a lot of time there!  After we left the house we grabbed lunch at lenny's.  We then went to my parents to relax and let the girls take a nap.  When we got to my parent's house, I noticed Anna Claire was really hot.  She hadn't been fussy at all, so I thought maybe she was just hot from being in the carseat.  But, I took her temp and it was 103.1.  I gave her Tylenol and laid her down and called her doctor.  He wanted us to get her there immediately and said they would probably admit her.  So, we rushed to LeBonheur.  By the time we got there, the fever was gone.  She was still her happy self.  So, we did labs and sat and waited to see if we would have to stay.  We hung out for a while so the we made the best of it.  The girls had a blast running around.  We finally were able to get in touch with the on call doctor, and her labs were good, so we went back home.  Drew was frustrated, but when her temp went back up to 103, I was glad we had went.  I would have been stressing out all weekend.  I still stressed out, but I was glad that her doctors at least knew what was going on.  I really think she had either a respiratory or urinary tract infection.  I just bumped up her antibiotic for the next week, and the fever is now gone.  Praise Jesus!  Needless to say, it wasn't the relaxing day we were hoping for.
Amelia loves to look at this.  I don't have a picture of the top, but there is a really big bird that goes round and round.  She loves to watch it.  She was trying to jump and touch it.  So cute!

They were playing chase in the lobby.

There was also a lot of peak a boo.  The echo here is great so the girls kept screaming to hear themselves.  As you can see, it wasn't very busy, so I just let them have fun.  I'm sure the security guard was glad to see us be on our way though!

Saturday, we met the rest of my family at Hueys for lunch, we then went back to my sister's house for pool time.  It was another quick trip, but it will be the last of the trips, so it was exciting!  I can't believe that in one more week we will be there for good!  Our little scare with Anna Claire made me even more grateful that we are going to be there soon.

Pool time

I told the girls we would go to the pool today.  If I hadn't promised and already gotten the pool ready, we probably wouldn't have gone to the pool.  Amelia is still in need of a nap, but refuses.  She completely destroyed her room at nap time.  But, we had a good time in the pool anyway.  or at least the girls did!

We couldn't use the cool pool with the slide because I couldn't find the plug for it.  Maybe next time!

9 months

Anna Claire turned 9 months on the 5th.  She is really starting to grow up.  She plays non-stop and only stops to eat and sleep.  She will eat anything we give her, but she has been having diarrhea for 2 weeks, so we are backing off.  Not sure if it is the teething, the lack of a gallbladder, a bug, or who a food allergy.  Not thinking a food allergy since we went 3 weeks before the diarrhea started.

We now officially have 2 teeth, the second just decided to grace us with its presence.  She is standing all of the time, and actually took her 2 steps last night at church.  It was so exciting.  Sadly, Drew missed.  She and I were hanging out in the nursery and he was in church.  But, she has been trying to walk all night tonight.  It is coming.
This has been the hardest month to get a picture yet!  She is never still!

So, without trying to sound too much like I am bragging on my girl.  I am so happy for all of her accomplishments.  After her surgery, we were told she would probably be developmentally behind.  And to see her doing things as all other babies do them makes me the happiest mommy in the world.  It truly gives me hope that my little girl is going to be ok.

Her favorite things to do are play peekaboo, still the blocks from me (she thinks that is hilarious), be tickled, and chase her sister.  They make my world so happy!  I love nothing more than to sit back and watch them play.  I love my girls!

shake, shake, shake

Anna Claire discovered the maracas a few weeks ago, and she fell in love.  I've been meaning to post this video forever, but life is crazy right now.  She is such a fun little girl!

Bragging on my big girl!

Today we had Anna Claire's 9 month check up.  I had planned on taking Amelia to daycare to just make it easier, but she looked so sad about going.  So, I decided to take her with me.  She did so good at the doctor's office.  She is starting to act like such a big girl.  But, I am most proud of her for her potty training!  For so long, I never gave her the opportunity to tee tee at bedtime because I didn't want her to be able to roam the house at night.  Well, this weekend we ran out of diapers, so I had no choice but to give it a shot.  It then all of the sudden occurred to me.  We have the elmo toilet.  She doesn't use it anymore, but it would work just fine in her room.  Why did I not think of this before!?!  She hasn't been perfect.  But, she is doing really well using the elmo toilet, plus she is so proud of herself that she really wants to use it.  I am so bad about not giving my girls enough credit for their abilities.  I just think they aren't ready for something when they really are.  Anna Claire is starting to eat like a big girl.  She loves it.  She will eat anything if I will just let her feed herself.  It is so hard to let go and let them grow up!
