Dressed in our best

Amelia has loved playing in my jewelry box since the time she could walk.  I had to move it into our closet to keep her away from it.  Now she can open the closet door, so my jewelry isn't safe anywhere.  Well, before church yesterday, she found my pearls that I got for being in my friend's wedding many years ago.  She had to wear them to church, and did not take them off all day.  She said Amelia's necklace.  I said, no that is mommy's necklace.  She said, I found it, and I was like yes, in my jewelry box!  She is a mess!

Mimi and Pops visit

Drew's parents came for a visit on Wednesday.  Anna Claire hasn't seen them since Thanksgiving/Amelia's bday.  She is still a little uncomfortable around people she doesn't know, so the first night was rough, but she did fine after that.  We had already planned on seeing if they would watch the girls Thursday night for us to have a "date" night, but I wasn't sure after the way she acted the first night.  But, luckily she warmed up to them, so we got to go on a date.  We just went to dinner and were home by 7:30, but it was nice to eat and not have to wrestle with 2 kids at the same time!  Friday, all the girls went to Cleveland for a little shopping.  I wanted to get Anna Claire an Easter basket and Amelia a little happy for doing so good with potty training.  I was a little nervous because none of the shops there have public bathrooms, and it is an hour drive to get there.  I just knew Amelia would pee her panties, but she didn't.  We went to a store called punkin patch to let her pick out a treat.  The one thing she picks out is a chore chart.  I just couldn't buy it for her.  I told her baby that is hardly a treat, but that is all that she saw that she wanted, so I decided we would just have to keep shopping.  We then went and got Anna Claire a basket.  That will be my next task to accomplish.  We then finished up with lunch.  It was a nice little trip.  Just a little difficult with a 5 month old and a potty training 2 year old.  We got back home and I decided to make cookies instead for Amelia's treat.  She was happy with that.  She has so many toys that I don't think it would have meant that much to her anyway.  That afternoon, I took Anna Claire to the daycare to meet her "teacher."  She will start daycare after this week.  I am going to be so sad to lose Ms. Helen, but I think it will be good for Anna Claire.  She love other babies so much, and I know she gets bored at home.  She did so good at the daycare.  She loved her teacher, and loved looking at the other babies.  It made me feel so much better.  I was so scared she would scream the entire time.  I really think that she is ready!  It will be nice having the girls at the same place.  Saturday, we just relaxed, and it was wonderful!

Flashback Friday

This was about a year ago.  She loved Cody more than anything.  She still tells us that she dreamed about him.  It isn't daily anymore, but at least once a week.

Like Father/ Like Daughter

Amelia, bless her heart, is very clumsy, and very accident prone.  She gets this trait from her daddy.  He had to walk around with a helmet on his head when he was a child due to his clumsiness.  She seems to be headed in the same direction.  I already wrote about her teeth going through her tongue on Valentine's day after she tripped at school.  Well, Friday night, we were playing and hanging out.  Anna Claire loves to bounce, so I was letting her bounce in my lap because as you know, night time with a baby can be a little difficult.  Well, Amelia wanted to jump too, so I let her jump on the couch against my better judgement.  I knew it was a bad idea, but I said, just be careful.  As if a 2 year old can just be careful.  Next thing I know she is on the floor on her head.  I made mistake #1 and just snatched her up, which of course is a natural reaction, but was not the smartest thing.  She was fine, just said she hurt her head, a few hugs and kisses made it all better.  Well, Saturday night, we were headed upstairs for bath time.  Drew, Anna Claire and I were already up there, Amelia was trailing behind.  I saw her reach the top of the stairs and then saw her go backwards.  All I could do was scream she's going down and run.  Drew pushed me out of the way, by the time he got there she was at the bottom.  Scared me to death!  And her too, but she was fine, landed on her head again!  She has been up and down the stairs for over a year now without a problem.  I guess we had all gotten a little careless.  Thank goodness she was ok, but anymore of these accidents, and she just might be sporting a helmet on her head!

Happy Valentine's Day

Happy Valentine's day!  The only thing that would have made this day perfect would have been if my Valentine had been in Greenville.  But, we celebrated early.  We actually went on a date last Friday night for Valentines.  We went to a restaurant called Vince's.  It was yummy!!!  We had a babysitter.  Poor Anna Claire cried the whole time we were gone.  She was really gassy last week and not feeling good, but I think we got that fixed and she is much happier again.  Plus she is teething.  No good!!!

But, today was not at all as I planned.  I got a call from daycare this morning that Amelia fell and bit her tongue.  Her tooth had gone through her tongue.  I figured she was fine, but they were worried, so I had to go check her out.  She was fine, but since it was my half day, and they seemed really nervous, I took her back to work with me.  That was a little stressful since I just don't sit in my office.  But, with a little help from my coworkers and the portable dvd, we made it through it.  I then decided that we would use the opportunity given us for me and Amelia to have a mommy/daughter date day.  We went to Mcdonalds for lunch.  Her tongue wasn't bothering her too bad.  She ate everything on her plate.  We then did a little shopping.  It was so much fun to have some time just me and her again.  Tonight, we had pancakes for dinner.  Amelia loves pancakes!!  She asks for them every day!
My littlest Valentine!

Wacky Wednesday

Wednesdays at our house are like the movie Groundhogs Day.  Not that I have seen the movie, but I know the storyline.  Same day over and over.  It isn't very exciting.  But, we like them.  We spend the day at home playing, and just enjoying each other.  Since Anna Claire stays at home, the living room is basically a make shift daycare.  It is insane the toys.  But, there are also diapers and booty cream.  Well, Amelia loves all things cream.  Last week she found my mary kay extra emollient night cream, and her hair was stiff for days.  It took a few shampoos for it to be normal again.  Next, she found the desitin.
She's making sure her skin stays young and beautiful!
She is a mess!  We have to hide all the lotion from her or it is everywhere!

This photo is from today.  This is how she likes to "sit" on her chair.  It reminds me of when I was a kid.  My sister and I would sit on our couch the same way.

Pop Goes the Weezel

Today, was a lot of fun just playing with my 2 girls.  I know it is just going to keep getting better.  Amelia is a little jealous of all of Anna Claire's fun toys.  She wanted to jump just like Anna Claire.  Well, obviously she is a little big for the jumper, so I told her she could jump on her turtle in her room.  She said ok, I'll be right back.  I thought she was going to go play in her room for a minute.  Next thing I know she is at the bottom of the stairs saying, I got it.  She carried her turtle all the way down the stairs by herself.  I am so glad she didn't fall and hurt herself.  I really couldn't believe it!  It was really cute though.  She but the turtle right beside Anna Claire and they bounced together.

Anna Claire's 5 months old!

Today, Anna Claire turned 5 months old.  She is definitely finding her love of all things baby.  She loves to play with anything and everything she can get her hands on.  She is loving her fruits and veggies.  She really isn't a fan of green beans, but they seem kind of gross to me.  She eyes our food like she is just waiting to get her hands on it.  Her favorite toy right now is her jumper.  Her little einstein handheld music maker is a sanity saver too!  She is still difficult to keep happy at night, but she always calms when we play that.  She loves peekaboo, when we "eat" her feet, when you laugh it makes her laugh even harder.  She also like running water.  She still isn't the best sleeper.  We are still up 2 times a night.  We will have a random night where she will sleep, but they are few and far between.  This is why my posts are few and far between.  I tend to go to bed really early!!  Good thing I can play catch up.

She is already trying to get the camera from me!

She thinks she is already a big girl!

Daddy's home!

Drew was out of town the past week.  He got home Thursday night, so last night we celebrated daddy being back home.  Amelia was hoping for cupcakes, she was disappointed.  We went to eat at Nolas.  It is one of our favorite restaurants here.

Anna Claire sat in a high chair for the first time.  She was not too happy about being in her carseat, but she loved the high chair!  We had to use the blanket to add support, but she did pretty good!

Amelia enjoying some coloring while waiting on our food.

We were all glad to have daddy home.  Amelia is getting to be such a daddy's girl.  It breaks my heart.  Last Saturday, we had a friend over for pizza, her husband was on the same trip as Drew, and thank goodness she came.  She was a huge help to me with the girls, and even gave Amelia a bath for me so I could get Anna Claire to sleep!  But, when Amelia came upstairs to get her bath, she says, where's daddy.  He always gives her baths now while I bathe Anna Claire.  She missed him so much as we all did.  But, by the end of the week, she was starting to name her stuffed animals daddy.

We had a slumber party Tuesday since we were under a tornado warning most of the night.  Amelia is not such a good bed sharer!  She was sideways most of the night.  Needless to say, once the weather calmed down, and each person was in their own bed and room, we all got a lot better sleep.

Today, we mostly just hung out and played around the house.  Anna Claire, as I have already said, is a big fan of the jumper right now.  Tonight, she enjoying some jumping time, and I all of the sudden noticed it had gotten quiet.  I said something to Drew and he looked at her, and just started laughing.  She had jumped herself to sleep.  We just let her finish her nap.  She slept for about 20 minutes.  She woke up and just went right back to jumping.  It was the cutest thing!
