Jumpings fun!

Anna Claire's new favorite thing.... Jumping!!!  She is jumping constantly.  Whether she is being held or in a toy, girl is jumping!

Excuse me talking in this.  I wanted to get her jumping to show Drew.  Amelia is always at my side when the camera is out.  She is doing great with potty training, but at this moment, she was so excited about the camera that I think she just forgot.  We had a few mistakes yesterday, but we are going to keep at it!

Discovering old is new

Anna Claire can finally play in the exersaucer!  Well, she's been in it for several weeks now.  I just stay behind these days.

Big sister has the mine-o-saur syndrome.  Everything is mine, mine, mine!  She can't stand for Anna Claire to have a toy that she can't play with!

Amelia is doing so good with her potty training!  We've had very few accidents, and most that she has had have been my fault.  Daycare was a little tough at first, but once they figured out the toilet flushing scared her, we haven't had any problems since!  Yay!  We celebrated the other night with chocolate chip cookies.  So proud of my sweet girl!

Potty time

We have officially undertaken the task of potty training with Amelia.  Since she is now taking off her diaper, and playing with the poop, we felt it was time!  So far, I have been pretty proud of my little girl.  No mistakes at all this morning.  This afternoon not so perfect, but it was our fault.  We had to run errands, so I can't blame her for mistakes when we aren't at home.  But, we took her for frozen yogurt to celebrate her accomplishments.

4 months old

Anna Claire turned 4 months old on Saturday.  She is growing so fast!
We started cereal on New Years day.  She is doing pretty good.  She has tried apples and sweet potatoes so far.  She is not a big fan of apples!  Maybe that will change.

Amelia got a basketball goal for Christmas from Mimi and Pop.  It was so nice outside Sunday, so we went out to play.

Anna Claire making a basket.

Amelia decided to join Anna Claire for a little tummy time.

Anna Claire had a busy week of doctors appointments.  We went to Memphis on Monday to meet with the GI specialist.  They think she looks great.  She is doing really well on the new antibiotic.  She had a lot of really green poop starting Saturday after we started it.  The doctor says that is called bile dump.  So, hopefully, her liver is getting cleaned out of all that bile that had built up.  We did labs on Monday, her liver enzymes are still elevated, but not any higher.  I'm hoping with all of this "bile dump" that the next check will be normal.  Thursday, we went to the Pediatrician for her 4 month check.  She is 15 #s, she is doing so good gaining weight!  She was told she looks great, and then she got her 4 month shots.  She didn't scream too long though.  She really did great.  She ran fever the next day, but has been fever free for all of today.  This is great.  She hasn't been completely fever free for a week now, so we are excited!  Hopefully no more trips to the hospital.  We are starting to feel normal again finally.  We will be on this antibiotic for at least 5 months, and I'm feeling pretty good about it!
She is doing all the things that every other 4 month old is doing.  Rolling around more and more, starting to play in her exersaucer, trying to chew on everything she can get her hands on, and laughing and giggling.  I have some really good videos of the 2 girls.  Maybe I will try to upload them tomorrow.

Poop!

Some of you may find this post inappropriate, but this is our life right now.  Amelia is amazed with poop.  I'm not sure where her fascination with it has come from, but she always wants to see her poop or Anna Claire's poop when we change their diapers.  Well, Sunday, I went to go get Amelia from her nap, and she was standing on her bed looking down, screaming, poop.  At first, I was like, what is she talking about.  Then, I looked down at the bed, and there it was.  She had taken off her diaper and the poop was lying right there.  I guess she couldn't wait to see it.  Then, today, I go get her from her nap.  She is running around the room, dressed.  It smells like poop, so I say, Amelia, did you poop, and she says yes and points down.  There is the diaper on the floor.  She had taken her diaper off and then put her pants back on.  This girl is a mess!

Rock-a-baby

My sister has been wonderful and really helped us out a lot while Anna Claire was in the hospital.  She spoiled my other little girl much more than I could have hoped.  Every night after her bath, she would rock her like a baby and sing rock a bye baby.  Well, Amelia never said anything about it until this last time Anna Claire was in the hospital.  She stayed with Sharon one night, and when Drew got there to put her to bed she was just getting out of the bath.  She says to him, Rock-a-baby.  Now everytime when we get her out of the bath she screams, rock a baby, rock a baby until we hold her like a baby and sing rock a bye baby.  It is a bit exhausting.  She wants it over and over and over again, and screams if she doesn't get it.  It's sweet and frustrating all at the same time.  Got to love a 2 year old!

Raid!

When I was little, my cousins and I had this little routine that we would play every time we would go to my grandmother's house.  There was this commercial on tv where roaches would scream RAID and fall over as someone pretended to spray them.  We thought that it was hilarious to play RAID.  We would look at my grandmother and scream RAID and fall down, start kicking, and she would pretend to spray us.  Well this morning, Anna Claire woke up to eat, and when I got there she had her arms and legs just waving and that is all I could think about, RAID!

Our Week in Review

I am so far behind, so instead of postdating and playing catch up, I'm just going to make this a quick review.

Monday, we finally got to come back home with Anna Claire.  Her numbers are lower than when we first got cholangitis, so everything is good!  We are on high dose antibiotics for a while, but that is it.  Yay!  Since we missed Chistmas, New Years Eve was our Christmas Eve.  Amelia and I made cookies for Santa.  We didn't get home to Greenville till 5, so we just put them together really quick.  But, she didn't mind.  She loved trying to eat them before I could  get them away.
This was Amelia at the Fedex house.  I love that they left all the Christmas decorations up till New Year.  She really doesn't know the difference!

Tuesday, Santa finally came to the Ellis house!  Amelia loved everything!  Including Anna Claire's presents.  Good thing AC doesn't know the difference yet!  The cutest thing was Santa brought them both knit hats, AC's was a monkey and Amelia's is an owl.  They are so cute!  Well, I was opening AC's stocking for her, so hers went a little faster than Amelia's.  I pulled out AC's hat and put it on her, Amelia didn't say anything, but when she reached in her stocking and felt something knit, she starts screaming, Monkey hat! Monkey hat!  She was so excited!  She was ok that hers was an owl though.

She wore her princess outfit for 2 days

Wednesday was just a normal day.  I took all the Christmas stuff down, and we just hung out.

Thursday, I went back to work.  When I got home, Drew tells me that AC has fever.  It was only 100, but she had been fussy that day, not sleeping well, so I immediately call her doctor.  It was so late though and they were changing over to the on call, so he didn't call me back.  I was a little annoyed, but by 6:30 her fever had come down.  So, I decided I would just call first thing in the morning.  The nurse ended up calling me right at 8.  I told her everything, got a call back around noon, and they decided to change her antibiotic.  She is now on cipro twice a day.  Of course that isn't a drug used a lot for kids so they had none in Greenville.  Luckily they did have it in Cleveland, so Drew drove their to get it.  She still has a low fever occasionally, but she is fever free for the most part.  Thank God!!  I cannot handle another 10 days in the hospital this soon!  I am just praying this works for her.
We are pretty exhausted right now, and needing a little bit of normalcy for a while!
